Ethel Grimsley is the founder and CEO of Faith Hope and Determination, Inc. She has served on the FHAD board since its inception August 1, 2008.
She was born in Safety Harbor, Florida, and currently lives in Largo. Ethel worked for Verizon of Florida in varied management and non-management support positions for more than 40 years.
On August 29, 2006, her 35-year-old son Joseph, the father of three, was diagnosed with an aggressive blood and marrow disease known as Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). Doctors told Joseph that without a bone marrow transplant he would not live another year.
Family and friends began a “fight for life” campaign in an effort to find a donor match for him. A match was never found and on August 19, 2007, Joseph lost his battle with cancer. Even though a donor match was not found, Joseph asked that we continue our mission to raise awareness, educate and encourage minorities to join the Marrow Registry.
Help me to continue the fight to help save others.

Nancy Spina is the vice president of FHAD and friend and former co-worker of Ethel Grimsley. After the passing of Ethel's son, I joined her in her efforts to help others whose young loved ones are battling cancer/leukemia with funding for financial assistance and research for a cure. Funding is the key for FHAD's success. Please make a donation and help FHAD save lives!

I am the Administrative Assistant for FHAD. I met the founder of FHAD, Ethel Grimsley in church. I was interested in joining FHAD to help spread the word how important it is.
I recently moved here from Tacoma, Washington. I have an Associate of Applied Sciences degree in International Business.
Joel Grimsley is the son of Joseph Grimsley and grandson of FHAD founder and CEO, Ethel Grimsley.
He is a 2018 graduate of Largo High School and is employed by Walmart. His future plan is to start his own business as a fitness trainer. He will also continue to work at his grandmother’s side in support of her efforts to FHAD.
Working on the FHAD team helps him feel closer to his dad while helping others.
Love & miss you dad!
